TPS Elektronik GmbH offers its customers solutions with comprehensive R&D and manufacturing capacities in power electronics. Our Chinese-German engineering team develops innovative hardware and software solutions for applications such as AC/DC power sources, chargers, on-board chargers (OBCs), PV inverters, battery testing systems, and energy storage systems. The power range extends from a few hundred watts to several hundred kilowatts. We work closely with experienced partners to develop customized solutions and achieve success together.

Hardware Expertise

  • Topology design for single- and three-phase power supplies: buck, boost, flyback, resonant, hard switching, Vienna, Swiss Development of PWM rectifiers, DC/DC converters and bridge inverters.
  • Selection and application of power semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC-FETs) and magnetic components.
  • Integration of analog sensors for current, voltage and temperature.
  • Experience with switching devices such as relays, contactors and circuit breakers.

Software and Design

  • Circuit and PCB design with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro
  • Mechanical design and simulation with SolidWorks
  • AutoCAD embedded software development for FPGA, CPLD, STM32, C2000 control logic, device software and interface programming for power electronics applications

EMC and Safety

  • Comprehensive knowledge of European, US and Chinese safety and EMC standards
  • Support with product certifications and testing
  • Cooperation with TÜV SÜD Shanghai for declarations of conformity

Interface- and Protocol Development

  • Integration of common communication interfaces RS232, RS485, RS422, SPI, I2C, CAN, TCP/IP
  • Development of communication protocols such as Modbus, ARINC429, RS232 bus, TCP/IP, AT commands
  • Adaptation of communication solutions for MCU-based control systems

Current controller for inductive control in the steel industry

Initial situation
The current regulator was developed for a well-known customer in the steel industry in Germany.
This current controller is used to precisely control the electrical current in inductive control systems used in the steel industry. It enables optimal power regulation and thus contributes to increased efficiency and quality assurance in steel processing production.

IC2 bus controlled charge/discharge processes for lithium-ion batteries

Initial situation
